3 Common Air Compressor Questions
We get a lot of questions about air compressors – and that’s a good thing – after all it’s what we do. Let’s take a look at some of the best questions we’ve received over the past few weeks.
Q: If I was only to do one thing to ensure my air compressor lasts a good long time, what would that be?
A: If you only do one thing to make your compressor system last a good long time, you’re going to be disappointed in just how long your air compressor system will last. However, for the sake of this question – if you had to do only one thing – we strongly recommend following the manufacturer’s specifications for maintenance and day-to-day operations. That’s probably more than one thing, but it will keep your unit reasonably happy for the longest period of time. But seriously, do more than one thing.
Q: My HVAC and my air compressor are in the same room and it’s causing some problems. What can I do?
A: This is pretty simple. Move that compressor out of the HVAC room. HVAC units can cause wild fluctuations in temperature and that’s going to cause trouble for an air compressor, which needs a consistent environment.
Q: We’ve got dirty air. We’ve added filters, can we add more?
A: You can, but your problem might lie in another area of the unit. We strongly recommend having one of our technicians come out and evaluate your system to make sure it’s operating properly. There are some high-density filters available as well, so the filters you have added may not be robust enough to get the job done.
